📅 Yesterday morning, May 28, we held the Conference on Financing for Energy Rehabilitation of Buildings at the NTT DATA headquarters in Barcelona. This event, organized jointly with the Financing Working Group of the Efficient Energy Cluster of Catalonia (CEEC), aimed to highlight the current opportunities and challenges in addressing energy rehabilitation.
During the conference, Núria Alemany Blasco (founding partner of CSIM), Montserrat Sánchez (Món Vertical), and Carlos Egler Jiménez (Grup Sisquella) participated in an initial roundtable to discuss the "challenge" of rehabilitation from the perspective of property management and rehabilitation companies. They emphasized the significant and educational role they are playing in promoting sustainable awareness of buildings within communities and the need to leverage Next Generation funds.
Sánchez stressed the importance of going beyond corrective maintenance and raising awareness that the building starts at the street door and not just at home. Additionally, they highlighted the urgency and importance of the CSIM Rehabilitation Office as a 360º single window for supporting property managers and providing specialized company support.
From the Catalan Housing Agency, we had the participation of Marta Martínez, director of the Next Generation European Funds program, who updated us on the status of the calls for applications, the challenges, and the measures being implemented by the AHC to meet the objectives by the end of June 2026.
We also had the participation of financial entities such as BBVA, UCI, Unión de Créditos Inmobiliarios, and Banco Sabadell, as well as Gesfincas (IESA) with Bankinter, who presented the solutions and conditions they offer to communities to economically undertake the rehabilitation and accompany them throughout the loan's lifecycle. These interventions were accompanied by insights from rehabilitation agents like Enric Solano (CPA) and EOSZENIT Energy, who play a key role in the process.
Finally, we want to thank the CEEC team Francesc Ribera Grau, Núria Doménech, Moreno, and Daniel Cerveró for the opportunity to jointly organize this conference and all the attendees for their participation and commitment. Let’s continue working together for a more sustainable and energy-efficient future. 🌍✨
